Vocal Effects: By default, most songs get some medium room reverb and a small amount of delay but I will add more or less depending on the song and room conditions. There are other reverbs available when needed.
I'm in no way offended if you want more or less or no reverb.
Background Vocals: If the original song had background singers, chances are the karaoke version will as well, usually they can't be turned off but sometimes they can be EQ'd a bit to make them less obtrusive, but ultimately if they are there, then they're there.
Keychanges: If needed I can keychange your song by 5 half steps up and 5 half steps down. Although keychangers on some home systems work by changing the song speed or tempo, mine does not. Keychanging is all digital and will in no way effect the tempo. To some folks a key change can give the illusion of a change in tempo but in reality no tempo change takes place
Tempo Change: Currently tempo change is not available but will be soon.
Preview Station: A preview/listening station is provided for your convenience to check out songs and experiment with key changes or to simply look up a song for which you might not know the exact title or artist. Feel free to use it as much as you like but please be aware of other folks who might be waiting to use it. Also please be aware that often times when you are singing to yourself with headphones on, the whole bar can hear you and if you are to loud it can be a distraction to the person currently performing.
The software is very easy to use, you are more than welcome to use it yourself or I'm more than happy to set it up for you.
Bringing your own music: Singers are more than welcome to bring their own CDG karaoke disk or memory stick with mp3g's (I prefer to have them unzipped but as long as there is only an .mp3 + .cdg file inside there should be no problems). I can also play wma+g's and kma's as well.
At some places with a computer, you might bring your disk in one week and find it listed in their songbooks the next. Although I have that capability I would never steal someone elses stuff and that includes their music. The Hosting software I use automaticly deletes a singers song after they are done to make it that much harder to steal.
If YOU want me to keep a copy on the computer for YOUR EXCLUSIVE USE, I can do that but you must tell me ahead of time you want me to do that.
Sanitation:Microphones are wiped down with an anti-bacterial cloth after each use which is why I ask that the mic's be returned to me after each use instead of being handed off to the next singer. If someone hands off a mic to you, feel free to trade it in for a clean one.
Saving songslips: Envelopes are available for you to keep your slips for your next visit. You can help yourself or ask me to make one for you. If you want me to file your envelope at the end of the night please give it to me or leave it at the envelope box where I can easily find it. Please don't refile the empty envelope and expect me to find it.
I always place your envelopes at the front of the alphabet letter, the more often you visit, the closer to the front you will find it. If it's been awhile since your last visit, it will be faster to find if you start at the back
Song Requests: I am more than happy to take your song requests. Generally speaking, the test as to whether a song might be available on karaoke is if it got radio play. A lot of great songs that never saw radio play will never be available on karaoke, but it never hurts to check!
If it's a song you know is available because you've seen it at other shows, sometimes they are not available any longer because the publisher pulled the rights for it, in these cases it's helpful for me to know what brand you saw, to help me look for it on ebay or other used sources.
If I can get it, I will get it.
